Halloween

i just moved to New York two days ago and realized that there is Halloween this weekend...Well being European we hardly even know what it is...I usually consider it the worst holiday as I have the biggest fear for spiders...This year however I am going to quite a few parties...so I am looking for some inspiration and came across this in Italian Vogue...MAMMA MIA
 8h on a plane
1 aicking back
2 pairs of craycray colored pants
4 amazing friends
2 bday cupcakes
4 glasses of cava
(1st night as New Yorker...Mi piache MOLTO!)

New neighbor...I think we could become PRETTY good friends...

oh West Village...how I L-O-V-E you!!

BTW...on my first day in NYC I ended up going to Jefferey's OH MY LORD it is AMAZING! I have lived in London and been amazed by Matches and DSM...Ive been to Paris and Collette...and Ive lived in Florence and Milano (and had my fair share of in-store Luisaviaroma and Corso Como...)
but Jefferey's...Yeah lets just say...I will be spending a LOT of time there! It is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!
(and they loved my leopard printed tods...aka now I love them!)

X O X O

New York!New York!

I know! I know! I KNOW! Ive been MIA...but I do have a good reason...Ive moved across the pond...No more pretending to be an English rose pour moi... (I do still appreciate the beauty of a fashion shoot featuring (THE) one though...)

Leopard paws

From left: Sequin Phillip Lim shorts, urban outfitters sweater, phillip lim jacket, Ps1, Pucci Tote
YSL ring, Salvatore Ferragamo flats
Stella McCartney knitted sweater, Phillip Lim skirt, Isabel Marant boots, Vintage fur collar (mummy's <3) and I decided it was time to give PS1 a rest...so brought out good old (11 months...) Celine

I always walk to work, which means I have to wear flats, so I have to invest in cute and comfy once. My latest obsession is leopard printed loafers (and a couple of weeks ago I was in Milano and managed to find the dreams...Tod's leopard printed pony hair loafers! So cute I could NOT resist!)
other obsessions...

these were chosen by Taylor Tomasi Hill as a fall have-to-have at Barneys...I think I might need to get them once Im settled in New York...

SPEAKING OF...

So no one ever said that moving across the pond is such a pain. But occasionally I had to listen the friends who actually done it before and it always was summed up with “it is VERY stressful!”
Maybe I should have paid more attention to these sum ups since I now all of a sudden find myself in the middle of the same hell. I have given up a life in London (a pretty damn good life as well) just to go live in New York. About a month ago I though this is going to be painful, but now it is painful…(for the past three days I have cried in public/office, been told off countless times and now I am about to pack up 40 pairs of shoes and move next weekend…

...

This weekend I ended up in a slightly bizarre club in Soho (dont even remember the name to be honest) but the music was great and I had fun. I love the pineapples in the ceiling...)

For a hungover catch up with my friend B we went to my new London obsession...The W hotel in Leisteer Square. (I know it is a horrible area but I find this the ultimate escape from all the tourists and non interesting tourist attractions...)
I love the Alice by Temperley bike on display in W (btw one of my New York dreams for is to have the Missoni for Target bike and go biking in West Village...wearing matching (non target) Missoni...)

on the way home we passed by Patrick Cox Cookies and Cupcakes in Brewer Street...bite me!

obession atm...(beside PS1) my spot-printed Tod's loafers that I found in Florence a couple of weekends ago
casual in the office...
Helmut Lang jeans
Stella McCartney top
own designed cardigan worn backwards with a brooch holding it together in the back
Phillip Lim leather jacket
vintage fox fur collar (an old possession of my super sweet mummy!)
ps1 bag (do I need to say it even?!)
some people do pics of their kids on their desks...while others...
Another day at the office...
jbrand jeans
Phillip Lim top
Vintage Escada cardigan (yet another vintage possession of my mummy<3)
Missoni cape
Chanel ballerinnas

London wrap up...

Monday it was 28 degrees and then it just dropped. Walking home from work on Wednesday afternoon I could not get the idea of a fur coat out of my head...(yesterday I almost impulse purchased one in Harrods)
By Thursday this week I decided it was time to pull out the good old Marc. This jacket is one of my all time favorites. I got it ages ago when I used to live in Italy, it has the ability to make a very dull outfit look really cool and fun, (as seen here with just a simple T by Wang tshirt and Helmut Lang jeans)

I love matching it with my new baby...the peagreen PS1 as well...

For a Saturday brunch and shopping...
Dress: vintage Chloe (worn with Current Elliott shorts which is not showing)
Sweater: Urban Outfitters
Boots: Miu Miu
bag: PS1
sunnies: Celine
ring: YSL

Fashion Week favorites

I like to think beyond the fact that a shoelace from Hermes is about £10 000 and look at the amazing new collection. It is the second from the new designer since Jean Paul left. I find it refreshing and def one of the high lights at Paris fashion week. Not only is it a collection which represents the brand completely but for the first time (since I got into fashion) it is actually something that I can imagine myself wearing.
Oh Isabel, why do you do this to me?!?!?

Let's just say the Queen of boho-parisian-chic has done it again...
I find the every season I either love the Prada collection and hate the Miu Miu or the other way round....
Spring 2012 is a Prada lover!

I cant wait running down 5th Avenue in one of these dresses and the chunky jewellery...

Moda Operandi

"I can't wait for the Carven dress to go online! I need it NOW!" (anonymous flatmate)

Solution? Moda Operandi
Created by one of my all time favorite fashion editors/personalities Lauren (I use to know her a Davies, but now it is) Santo Domingo, it is the ultimate site to be a member at, as you can pre order straight from the catwalk. I personally refers to it as the most exciting fashion site since Net-a-porter.com.

As I am at the moment about to move to New York in two weeks time (exactly today actually!!!) it is not the best time to spend £3000 on a dress (which is the damage that my dream PS dress would do to my bank account...) but I am more then thrilled to find out what my flatty will have to say about it...

FW moments...

NY FW

Yes I know it is old news now, but I am trying to make up my mind which shows I love the most (and where to place the future investments...)

Maybe its because I am crossing the pond long term in a couple of weeks but the NYC fashion week shows was very good this time. The Proenza was def a fav for the season. As for now...I have the benefit of having the body of a model without being one (I know this will sound like a silly complain but I don't know how many times (per week) I have to explain to strangers and friends of friends (majority of these, MEN) why I am not considering joining the model industry)Second week at my current job, a girl (then stranger, now rule model) comes over to me asking if she can use me to try on the outfits for the upcoming shot the following morning...so for now I am try fit model for the shots. I did a fitting yesterday morning (not to self DO NOT have breakfast on a day you are required to model UK size 6...) and it was a lot of fun. There are some really cool things at work...

PS1 back in my life...

I first meet her a year ago...she was large, extra large even...two days in my busy exciting (and at the time completely heart broken) life. I remember taking her to uni and then brunch and that's were she broke and all of a sudden the new friend was the worst enemy. She came along for a couple of more event but then I had it and decided that was that. We were not meant to be friends. So I gave her away, thinking that she would leave an empty chair at the table, but turned out she ended up introducing me to a new best friend Miss C (oh man we have had some GOOOOD times together!!)

But a year has passed...being born with a forgiving heart I decided it was time to give her another go...so she is back in my life...this time in peagreen and slightly smaller. I hope and I will be very happy together this time...
